This was a good little lunch stop after a long, hot morning at the Little Bighorn National Battlefield. We got a perfect parking spot right in front (the meters take cash and cards) and walked in at the tail end of lunch rush.
Ordering was a little hectic - there wasn't a clear place to stand in line, and while the staff was friendly, they were almost too friendly! They were so loud and enthusiastic and hyper it was actually overwhelming. Plus, you place your order but then when they start making your sandwich they yell your name and you have to tell them what you want on your wrap.... even though you already placed your order. So that was a bit much.
That being said, our wraps were totally delicious, and I LOVE how they package and serve them up - they were so easy to hold and eat, not at all messy, and didn't create a lot of trash.
So, I stopped in the other day to get a bite, never been in a Pita Pit, and it seemed like it was the time to try it...The staff was extremely nice, which is the only reason why I'd give this place any stars.
To be honest, I remember two things about this place, the honestly nice staff members, and this fly crawling around on the open food prepped and ready to serve people (we all know flies are filthy and drawn to anything), and when I pointed it out to the one clerk behind the counter who was prepping her own meal, when I thought I couldn't be grossed out any further because I don't know where else this fly has been and this food could be potentially served to me or anyone else, and I legit was ordering when I saw this fly. The gal who was behind the counter making her meal, in response to me pointing out the fly blew at it a few times and acted as if this were the only normal thing to do. So now, after the fly has crawled filth all over the food, and potentially laid eggs in the food, now, if this really nice gal has any germs or potentially sick, these things are now also contaminating the food, along with anything else that might have occurred in the process. Whether this was the first or the millionth time this has happened, my stomach turned and I had to leave, and I no longer feel compelled to go to a pita pit.
To be fair, I only stopped in two get a couple of drinks but the service impressed me so much I had to leave a review. It is so nice to be greeted by someone at the counter who doesn't look like they hate their job or resent having to serve you!
While I was there I did notice that it was a cute pita shop, everything looked fresh and made to order, and I would happily stop in again to eat next time.
Fabulous Food and Awesome Service!
We visit the downtown Pita Pit nearly every week. Each time we are greeted with excellent service and great food! The staff are always friendly and helpful, they have such awesome attitudes and we've yet to have a negative experience.
Thank you for all you guys do to provide a great experience every time!
Best place to grab food down town. Fresh hot amazing and fast. Chips pita and drink to go in 10 mins or less almost every time
